About Chapter Seven

Chapter Seven was established in 2004 with the vision to create 'a more inclusive Australia' and a mission to use philanthropy to 'reduce the incidence of poverty'.

Chapter Seven is a not for profit organisation that identifies barriers to the progress of socially disadvantaged people, and overcomes those barriers via a range of business mechanisms.

In 1997, Nic Bolto (President, Chapter Seven) founded Full Support Pty Ltd, a government and business to business consulting group. Profits from this entity were used to establish Chapter Seven.

Chapter Seven Vision

A more inclusive Australia achieved through research and citizenship advocacy.

Chapter Seven Strategy

The 2011-2012 business plan addresses three goals:

1. Business Development
2. Effective Management
3. A Respected Organisation

The first edition of the magazine was launched by Australian of the Year, Simon McKeon, on March 22 2011. The Difference will be used as a strategy for organising fundraising and corporate sponsorship for charities that work in the areas of disadvantage covered in the publication.

Chapter Seven also runs a cluster of social enterprises to assist people with a disability and others at risk of chronic long-term unemployment.

The five year strategic direction of the magazine include: state based editions across QLD, WA and NSW; increasing the indicators to reflect changes in the community as well as introducing a single score indicator of poverty.

The Difference will also be presenting the Marysville 2 Melbourne race with Rapid Ascent to be held on the 29 April 2012. For more details, click here.
